Petrol Price in Sri Lanka Today (September 2026)
Official Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) prices for Petrol 92, Petrol 95, Auto Diesel, Super Diesel and kerosene, in Sri Lankan and Pakistani rupees, explained simply.
Quick answer: In Sri Lanka, Petrol 92 costs Rs 399 per litre (about 336 Pakistani rupees) and Petrol 95 costs Rs 475 (about 400 Pakistani rupees), after cuts on 31 August 2026. Auto Diesel is Rs 382.

How Sri Lanka Sets Fuel Prices
Sri Lanka imports all of its fuel, so pump prices follow world oil prices and the value of the Sri Lankan rupee. CPC uses a pricing formula and normally announces new prices at the end of each month. When the 2026 Middle East conflict pushed oil prices up sharply, prices were also raised mid-month, and Petrol 92 climbed from Rs 294 in January to a peak of Rs 434 before easing.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan
Petrol 92 in Sri Lanka costs about 336 Pakistani rupees a litre, cheaper than Pakistan’s price of around Rs 390. Auto Diesel, at about 322 Pakistani rupees, is also well below Pakistan’s diesel price of over Rs 400. Like Pakistan, Sri Lanka imports all its fuel, so both countries felt the 2026 oil shock sharply.
