Last 15 Days Petrol Price in Pakistan: Sept 2026
Petrol prices in Pakistan have risen sharply over the last 15 days under the new daily pricing mechanism. Here’s the complete day-by-day breakdown from September 2 to September 18, 2026.
In mid-2026, Pakistan transitioned from its previous biweekly fuel pricing system to a daily pricing approach, allowing OGRA to adjust petrol and diesel prices every 24 hours based on a rolling average of global oil prices and the rupee-dollar exchange rate, rather than every 15 days. Prior to July 17, 2026, the government set fuel prices every 15 days, with the prime minister approving each update. This transition is the reason why petrol prices have fluctuated almost daily this month instead of just twice.

Government relief for Petrol Price

The government currently imposes Rs114 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs100 per litre on diesel. To alleviate the pressure from the ongoing price increases, the Prime Minister’s Office has announced a relief package of Rs100 per litre for owners of two- and three-wheelers, limited to a monthly quota of 20 litres, and the same relief for vehicles with an engine capacity of up to 800cc, with a monthly limit of 30 litres.
Why it matters:
OGRA determines the daily rate based on a seven-day rolling average of global prices — therefore, even if Brent crude prices drop on one day, the retail price could still increase the following morning due to the average incorporating the previous week’s elevated prices.
