Introduction: Why This Mission Began

It was a humid evening inOctober 2023. I pulled into a petrol pump on Lahore’s Ferozepur Road, handed over Rs 5,000, and watched the meter stop at barely 20 litres. Like millions of Pakistanis, I muttered the same question:“Is this price even real? Who decides this? And why does it feel like I’m paying more than yesterday?”

That night, I went home and tried to find answers. I searched for official price notifications, historical data, and clear explanations of what I was actually paying for.

I found nothing.

What I discovered was a frustrating maze: broken government websites, outdated news reports, contradictory social media posts, and zero centralized information. The data existed—OGRA issues notifications every fortnight—but it was buried in PDFs, scattered across ministries, and completely inaccessible to the average Pakistani trying to budget their monthly expenses.

That moment sparked a simple but powerful idea:What if someone built a single, reliable place where every Pakistani could find accurate fuel prices, instantly, for free, and without confusion?

Petrol Price Pakistanwas born from that question.

The Problem: Why Pakistan Needed Transparency

Government document and financial data

Before this site launched, checking fuel prices meant:

  • Scrolling through dozens of news websiteshoping for accurate reporting

  • Trusting WhatsApp forwardswith unverified numbers

  • Visiting multiple petrol pumpsto compare rates manually

  • Struggling to find historical datato understand long-term trends

For businesses relying on transport, this lack of transparency meant unpredictable costs. For families, it meant budgeting blind. For drivers, it meant constant uncertainty about whether they were paying a fair price.

Pakistan deserved better.

The Solution: What PetrolPricePakistan.comDelivers

Fuel prices and city comparisons displayed

Our mission rests on three simple pillars:

1. Accuracy You Can Trust

Every price on this site is verified againstofficial OGRA notificationsreleased every fortnight. We don’t guess, speculate, or rely on rumors. When you see a price here, it matches exactly what the government has notified—nothing more, nothing less.

2. Transparency You Deserve

We don’t just show you the number. We break downwhat you’re actually paying for:

  • Base ex-depot price

  • Petroleum Levy

  • Custom duties

  • Distribution margins

  • Dealer commissions

No hidden figures. No confusing jargon. Just clear, honest information.

3. Accessibility for Everyone

Whether you’re in Karachi, Quetta, Gilgit, or a small village in Punjab, you deserve the same access to information. Our site works onmobile phones, tablets, and computers—because we know most Pakistanis check prices on their phones before heading to the pump.

The Journey: Challenges and Milestones

Milestones and visitor statistics presentation.

Building this wasn’t easy. The first challenge was simplyfinding the data. OGRA notifications aren’t always published consistently. Some months required digging through archives, contacting officials directly, or cross-referencing multiple sources to confirm accuracy.

Then came the technical work: building a database that could track prices across15+ major cities, updating every fortnight without fail, and presenting it in a way that anyone could understand.

But every late night and every challenge faded when the first emails started arriving:

“Thank you for this site. I run a small transport business with 3 trucks. Your price updates help me calculate exact costs and bid accurately on contracts. You saved my business.”
Mr. Ahmed, Karachi

“As a student in Islamabad sending money home every month, I need to know exactly how much fuel costs for my father’s rickshaw. Your site gives me peace of mind.”
Fatima, Islamabad

These messages are why this mission matters.

The Commitment: What Drives Me

Puzzle pieces labeled mission and vision

I am not a politician. I am not a corporation. I am a Pakistani citizen who believed thatinformation should be free and accessible to everyone.

This site carries no ads from oil companies. It pushes no political agenda. It exists for one reason only:to give you the truth about fuel prices in Pakistan.

Every fortnight, when the new prices are announced, I personally verify every number before publishing. Every historical record is checked against original sources. Every explanation is written to be understood by a 10th-grade student and a university professor alike.

The Future: Where We’re Going

Mobile apps, alert sign, API gear

The mission doesn’t stop here. In 2026 and beyond, we’re working on:

  • Mobile App:Push notifications when prices change, so you never miss an update

  • Price Alerts:Set your target price and get notified when fuel hits that level

  • Business API:For transport companies and developers needing reliable price data

  • Regional Languages:Expanding to Urdu, Sindhi, Pashto, and Balochi

  • More Cities:Covering every district in Pakistan

Because transparency shouldn’t be limited to major cities. Every Pakistani deserves to know what they’re paying.

Transparency isn’t a one-person job. It’s a movement. And you’re part of it.

  • Check pricesbefore you fill up

  • Share this sitewith friends and family

  • Send feedback—tell us what else you need

  • Spread the word—the more people know, the harder it is for confusion to thrive

Together, we can build a Pakistan where every rupee spent on fuel is a rupee understood.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. Thank you for trusting this site. Thank you for caring enough to understand where your money goes. And thank you for being part of a Pakistan that demands transparency, honesty, and fairness.

The fuel price may be Rs 258 today, but your trust is priceless. I will never forget that.
